a Frolic 21 open launch

Motorised open Frolic 21

A rare GRP hulled Frolic 21 built by Stelco (previously The Steam and Electric Launch Company) for those who love the shape but have no access to an electricity supply or might simply prefer the purr of an internal combustion engine. The white hull is of GRP construction meaning low maintenance for a new owner and no sign of osmosis while the internal and external mahogany has been through the Henwood and Dean workshops in spring 2017 so she is spruced up and ready to go. There is a trailer available by separate negotiation. The photos show the boat prior to the revarnishing being carried out. She has not been relaunched this summer. The BMC vedette engine was fitted from new by this excellent amateur woodworking boatbuilder (previously a dentist) working in Hemingford Grey.
The owners preferred the open version so while a canopy could be added she is currently an elegant open launch with seating for at least six. BSS certificate valid through to 2018. The name is to be retained by the owners so there is an opportunity here to christen your boat afresh on purchase.
If you are keen to have an electric Frolic 21 and like the additional wood then you could of course ask our partner company Henley Technical Services to quote for an electric propulsion installation.
The boat comes with a large additional winter cover as well as an overall summer cover.
