Talitha – a Bossoms Isis 16

A Bossoms Isis 16

Built by Bossoms of Oxford in 1998 for the current owners with their own specification to include three different cover options – one with a full length canopy with drop down sides, one a dual pram hood arrangement and the other a tonneau over a single stainless steel hoop. All three are in good condition. Talitha has overwintered ashore each winter and comes with a bespoke trailer which has also been regularly maintained and is included in the sale price. The hull is GRP while the interior is fitted with generous bow, stern and side lockers in varnished hardwood  and there is a mahogany trim which forms the rubbing strake. Cushions are of blue acrylic canvas and in good condition.

The adventurous owners have camped aboard using a purpose-built double-berth conversion in the bow and to this end  there are  bespoke curtains for all windows.  The sound insulated varnished engine box is fiddled and is a convenient location for a small portable stove if required.  There are two other fiddled small tables for drinks and entertaining.  All the auxiliary equipment stows away in the lockers.  The boat is licensed to carry nine adults.  There is an electric and manual bilge pump and navigation and interior lights.  The  reliable Beta 10 diesel engine has only run for about 450 hours and been serviced annually.  A full service record from new is available for inspection.  At river cruising speeds the engine uses only about half a litre of fuel every hour but more power is readily available when the river is in spate.  The boat is unusually manoeuvrable and can rotate within its own length.

The BSS certificate is valid until 2019.
