SPECIAL EVENTS FOR HENLEY
HENLEY FESTIVAL OF MUSIC AND THE ARTS
The evening begins at around 6 p.m. with an hour's relaxing
cruise taking time to wind down and enjoy a glass or two of champagne
or Pimms with our tasty canapés and nibbles, before taking up our festival
mooring upsteam of the floating stage. Guests are then free to wander
around the site enjoying the
art
galleries and maybe a show in one of the smaller marquees while the crew
set the tables for dinner. We usually try to serve the first two courses
prior to the start of the main concert for which guests can choose between
lawn tickets or access to the grandstand. While the concert is in progress
the crew relay the tables for pudding and cheese so that guests can come
and go at their leisure for the remainder of the evening. We aim to return
you to your cars after the fireworks at around midnight, warmed by a glass
of port and an endless supply of coffee and truffles. Dress is strictly
black tie for the gentlemen and suitably festive dress for the ladies
with warm wraps or jackets a must and sensible shoes advisable.

HENLEY ROYAL REGATTA
The day begins mid morning as guests arrive to board the Princess Marina
enjoying morning coffee and light refreshments before we cruise up to
the Regatta start situated alongside Temple Island. As we approach our
crew will regale guests with regatta facts while everyone studies the
form with the aid of the day’s racing programme.
We usually aim to cruise the course a couple of times revelling in the
excitement of the finish as we soak up the party atmosphere for which
Henley Regatta is so remowned. Pimms and champagne flow freely with canapés
served prior to lunch. Your floating lunch options are to traverse Hambleden
Lock aiming for the quiet pastoral reach downstream of the lock with unforgettable
vistas of the 18th century clapboard mill and Culham Court perched above
the river in Georgian splendour.
Alternatively
we can head upstream through Marsh Lock and onto the Shiplake Reach with
its stunning riverside residences which you can view while savouring our
chef's culinary delights. We then return to the regatta course for more
excitement serving afternoon tea before guests disembark at about 5.30.
