Knave of Hearts is a shining example of a pre war cruiser which is well known on the Thames having been used extensively by her previous owner for activities such as Swan Upping. Built of pitch pine on oak ribs with varnished iroko transom, varnished mahogany cabin sides and varnished teak fore and aft decks, she has won several trophies in the past few years at the Traditional Boat Rally including the Bill Gardam trophy for originality and maintenance. She sports plaque no 2 of the Thames Vintage Boat Register as well as a current EA licence and a BSS valid until 2008.

The accommodation on board comprises : a cockpit with aft seating with three loose covered cushions with zips and large store locker below, two smaller seats with lockers below, varnished sole.

Cabin : 2 x 6ft 6ins berths with storage below, a mahogany table, galley with sink, small fridge, shelving and cupboards.

Double doors lead forward from the saloon to the heads where there is a wash basin and a white china Baby Blake pumpout has pride of place. A mahogany hanging wardrobe has space for plenty of clothes as well as shoes below.

Engine : The original Austin 10hp Triton engine has been overhauled completely and fitted with new electrics, water pump, alternator and fuel system.

Restoration : She has been sympathetically restored at different yards over the past decade. New stainless steel fuel and water tanks were fitted along with new basins, period hand pumps and new wiring to the brass lamps. The cockpit and cabin roof are of traditional painted canvas which was replaced in 2002.

Available for viewing out of the water near Chertsey having been recently rebuilt below the waterline.
