Maisy - 1950's Yacht Club Launch.

Maisy is a substantial open motor launch, built in the 1950's for the Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club and designed to go out in all weathers to rescue sailing yachts beached on the notorious bar at the entrance of the River Deben in Suffolk. In 1975 she was sold to the Aldeburgh Yacht Club and was maintained by the club boatman until purchased by her current owner in 2003, who has brought her up to "Henley"

standard. Her design and construction make her an excellent and safe family boat and one that any purchaser will be proud to own.

Her hull has just been stripped down and repainted with 7 coats of white yacht enamel and is constructed of wide mahogany planking laid on oak. The foredeck is constructed of varnished mahogany planking to match her stained and varnished engine cover and floorboards. The foredeck, engine cover and floorboards were all replaced by Paul Brownjohn in 2007. The engine is a 30hp 3 cylinder Perkins marine diesel offering reliability and power when needed. She has a brand new heavy duty bosch battery and whale automatic bllge pump.

Maisy's central steering position gives excellent visibility and enables her to be handled safely by one person. She is skippered from a central console mounted with the engine controls and steering wheel, controlling the hydraulic steering. There is passenger seating fore and aft and either side of the skipper. When moored her engine cover makes an excellent picnic table.

She comes with a braked two wheel road trailer, full length cover, warps, fenders and a new all round rope fender. She will be sold with a new BSS certificate.
