An ideal boat for participating in classic boat meetings which can be stored at home quite easily on its custom built trailer. The external condition is excellent, the paintwork impeccable. Built in the early sixties by Simmonds Speedboats in Newcastle on Tyne as boat no. LW109 of aluminium alloy, this particular example is painted white to the waterline and red below with a polished alloy strake. There is a ladder affixed to the transom presumably for tired waterskiers. All the fixtures and fittings are original and include a bow fairlead, mooring ring and polished alloy navigation lamp. The bench seats are upholstered in red vinyl. Steering wheel is to starboard with hand throttle and manual clutch lever. The central engine compartment lid has ventilators and a towing ring for skiers afixed. There are fitted red vinyl tonneau covers to both cockpits.The Ford Consul 1500 cc 4 cylinder petrol engine was marinised by Simmonds with twin downdraft Zenith carburettors and free flow exhaust. Closed system cooling with false bottom heat exchanger and header tank. Direct drive via clutch to a three blade Simmonds propellor.
