Admiral 7

Broom
1962
42ft
2.5 BMC diesel
10ft6ins
A lovely example of a 1962 wooden Broom which would be ideal for extended cruising. With her 7 berths, galley, saloon, wheelhouse 2 toilets and a shower she is extremely spacious and could be refitted if required to provide good long term accommodation for a couple. Completely original interior with some lovely features. Handles very well on the water for a big boat.

Over the past few years extensive work has been completed on the hull, sides and decks and she is very watertight. (mahogany on oak)

2.5 BMC diesel engine which has had regular maintenance. Borg Warner velvet drive gear box. Easily worked upon in a roomy engine room under wheelhouse. 5Yo stainless steel water tank. Pump out system, but not used. Fitted winter tarpaulins, fitted clear / canvas window protectors for the wheelhouse, original embroidered floor mats, stating "Admiral V11"

Interior layout, starting at the stern:

Small covered seating area, gas locker. Canvas is only 2 years old. Mahogany concertina part glass doors into galley.

Galley is equipped with gas stove (4 ring, grill and oven), sink and drainer and there is space for a fridge.

Saloon has the original folding leaf table with plenty of storage. Plenty of light from the windows and sleeps 2. Large airing cupboard with 2yo hot water cylinder (heated of engine, mains and a spare coil for e.g. solar/gas heating)

Main bathroom has powerful shower (new water pump) chemical toilet and a pump out toilet.

Large wheelhouse with fold out seating and beautiful instrument panel. Seats 6 adults easily. Wooden windows to front, canvas rear. This all folds down so she fits under Osney Bridge which is 7'6'' (2.28m)

Steps down to double cabin, single cabin and with a twin cabin in bow. Toilet and sink.

Mains electric throughout, 12v sockets. Boat Safety Certificate until September 2010

A lovely example of a river cruiser which gains plenty of interest when cruising. Currently lying on the Thames in Oxford. Mooring may be available at a lovely secure marina. Emigration forces sale of a truly loved boat which will be sadly missed.
