The steel hull of Arabella was constructed at the prestigious Akerboom Yard in Holland and fitted out on the Thames by George Wilson & Sons for the 1964 Earls Court Boat Show.The owners have the original drawings, specifications, a newspaper article and an early photograph. Arabella has had five owners and spent many of her earlier years on the Thames. She took part in the 1977 Queen's Silver Jubilee pageant.More recently she has been cruising the canals of Europe. The current owners have travelled in France and Belgium and have crossed the Channel several times and spent time on the River Stour in Kent. The engines have been maintained for the three most recent owners by the same specialist engineer based in Burgundy. She has been re-tarred three times since 2003 and her propellors were re-conditioned in 2006.An out of water survey was carried out in 2007 for the purpose of valuation.A new Webasto central heating unit was fitted in 2004.The current owners have always maintained her to a high standard and have purchased and fitted the navigation aids.
