Stuart Turner P5 inboard

Built in the early 1960's in Kingsbridge, Devon. Barnacle Bill is a well equipped little launch with bags of charm and now presented in excellent condition after the owner has lavished hours of care and varnish on her.The hull is built of mahogany on oak with any necessary ribs or planking replaced. The cabin sides are also of mahogany and all the woodwork was scraped back before varnishing with 6 coats. The bilges and cabin interior have also been rubbed down and repainted with three coats after Cuprinol treatment. The brass portholes and fittings have been polished and lacquered. The facilities in the forepeak comprise 2 vee berths, a small galley area, various storage lockers and a portapotti.

Barnacle Bill was originally gaff rigged but is now set up as a Bermudan rig with a Wickham Martin job furler, 2 mainsails and a jib. The cockpit has a fitted tonneau and there is also a full length overall cover.

The 4 h.p. Stuart Turner was refurbished to include a reconditioned carburettor and magneto and repainted in its original green livery. Electric start was added as well as a stainless steel fuel tank. The boat will sell with a new BSS certificate and the possibility of a lovely mid Thames mooring near Wallingford. Bill also sports a Seagull long shaft outboard auxiliary engine and bracket for Seagull racing as practised at the Thames Revival in St Katherine's Dock and won by one of HSC's regular skippers !

Bill would be very happy on the Broads or indeed around the coast where sailing would be more exciting than on the Thames.
