Delphi
PRICE: £35,000BATES STARCRAFT

1960
Bates of Chertsey
30ft
Nanni diesel (2001)
10ft2ins
One of the ever popular Bates cruisers, Delphi retains many of her original features as well as having the advantage of the lovely open aft cockpit. Constructed of double diagonal mahogany with an unvarnished teak deck she is an excellent example of the breed. I particularly liked the fact that the aft cockpit had a full hanging cupboard on the starboard side which is ideal for storing outdoor clothing, fishing nets and other essential paraphenalia. As is usual in a Starcraft there is plenty of open sky for holiday cruising with the opening hatch amidships and the two hatches on either side of the driving position. The soles throughout are of solid woods which could be treated with non slip varnish or even painted scandinavia style if preferred. The sixties fittings are all intact with the original mahogany cupboards throughout. The saloon area still has the two tables to port and starboard which convert to bunks. A new owner may decide to make one side into a comfy couch. The present owner has kept the boat in good order and she is currently in winter storage in Chertsey, where she can be viewed by appointment. The boat has a new BSS certificate. Please call our Henley office on 01491 578870 to arrange a viewing or for further information.
