Seamew is a Gentleman's Motor Yacht, and Dunkirk Little Ship, built in 1936 by Williams & Parkinson in North Wales, for Mr. Oswald Fryer Smith, a solicitor in Liverpool and certified with the British Registry as 164238 SEAMEW. A twin screw motor ship of 37' 6" long and 12.26 tons, she is registered with Lloyds from 1939 to 2012. (All documents are with the current owner).

In 1940 Seamew was requisitioned by The Admiralty for Operation Dynamo and returned in 1948 to Williams & Parkinson for redecking and refurbishments and then returned to Mr. Fryer Smith in April 1955.

By 1972 ownership had been transferred to Mr. Kevin Worsley of Wigan with subsequent records showing ownership transferred in 1988 to Harry Quirk who lived in Peel in the Isle of Man. Harry was instrumental in starting major restoration to Seamew and is credited with saving her from the scrapyard. In August 2003 Harry sold Seamew to the current owner and together they completed the restoration over several years, with reconditioned Perkins 4108 marine engines and gearbox - completing the refurbishment in June 2005. She was repainted and revarnished in September 2009.

The structure of Seamew is pitch pine on oak and teak deck. All sails, rigging and equipment is included together with all original mahogany furniture and a dinghy - everything is ready to sail.

Seamew is available to view by appointment afloat in Peel Marina, Isle of Man. Travel costs to view will be refunded on purchase. There are also many more photos available on request so please contact us to view these or for any further information.
