Windrush IV is an almost unique vessel with historical and royal associations. Indeed there are photos of the boat with both the late Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth on board. She is a twin screw river launch, constructed of diagonal and carvel planking on steam bent and sawn frames constructed by A.H. Moody & Son Ltd. to designs by L.J.Bushnell in 1969.The accommodation comprises cockpit, open forward well with bench seating about the perimeter and centreline access to wheelhouse. Centreline sliding door access to main saloon which is some 3m in length containing upholstered bench seats port and starboard with almost full length table between and sundry lockers and shelves. There is a toilet and basin to starboard and full height bar arrangement opposite. A fully equipped kitchen and port side companionway up to the sterndeck.Windrush IV is powered by two Thorneycroft marinised Ford 6 cylinder water cooled D series engines, each producing 90hp continuous at 2500rpm.While the boat has been in service to the EA for some of its life, in more recent years she has been used privately for corporate entertainment for which she is ideally suited. She would convert quite easily to a private sleep aboard craft if so required and has space at the stern for eating and sunbathing as well as the large forward well which is great for entertaining. A versatile launch which would be equally at home on a lake, river or for estuarial use.Included in the sale is a winter cover, cushions and canopy. A survey has just been completed in September 2009 and is available to view on request. The boat is available for viewing ashore in Chertsey, Surrey by appointment with HSC. Please call 01491 578870
