A series of GRP boats came into the UK and onto the Thames in the early part of this new century, one of which was the open Viki 23, designed in the Netherlands and built in Turkey where traditional boatbuilding is alive and well. To my knowledge there are 3 or 4 still on the Thames. Obedient Lady has been with the same owner for the past 17 years and is now looking to change hands. She has been overwintered every year under cover and well maintained both mechanically and cosmetically. To accommodate British weather Paul Brownjohn built a full length canopy and she had a new forward deck built by Jim Walker just a couple of years ago in teak. Moored close to Henley I would be happy to show the boat with its spacious interior and splendid canopy to any interested party.
The interior includes a sink and a cooker although the latter is currently disconnected for the purposes of the EA Boat Safety Scheme. Other waterways may not object !
The engine is a reliable modern Vetus 3 cylinder diesel.
The boat comes with a new BSS certificate and an EA licence for 2022.
