Dawn Breaker – a clinker cruiser
Dawn Breaker is a clinker cruiser based on the hull of a North Sea fishing vessel built of larch on oak and now fitted out for extended cruising. The boat has been owned for the past six years by a wooden boat enthusiast who has undertaken much of the restoration himself while adding many creature comforts. The boat is ready to go with all ropes and fenders, good interior furnishings, a full galley with all crockery, pans etc and a full length winter cover. The cockpit is airy and spacious as is the open plan cabin with a practical and smart galley area. The current owner has had loads of fun with Dawn Breaker including a trip all the way up the Thames via the Estuary to Lechlade. I liked the open layout and the aft cockpit area. Whoever built the cabin also liked light and the large portholes add to the appeal. A modern Thornycroft diesel gives reliable and inexpensive cruising.
Dawn Breaker is currently lying in Suffolk and will be participating in various River Deben events in the coming weeks. She can be viewed there by appointment with the owner.
He is selling due to illness so has decided to keep his open dayboat and reluctantly has agreed to let Dawn Breaker go to a new owner.
