La Vie en Rose – Wootten’s Slipper Launch
A beautiful stern slipper launch built by Woottens of Bourne End. 28ft in length, she has wooden topsides and a fibreglass bottom with a smooth running Ford Watermota Sea Tiger engine. The great advantage of the extra length is of course the ability to take 7 passengers seated in this case on four lloyd loom chairs with smart blue cushions with white trim to match the aft bench. There is room with all the seating in place to add a small folding mahogany table for picnics. The dash is complemented by bespoke champagne glasses in fitted mahogany holders. Under the new varnished mahogany cockpit sole is a concealed ice box. Two side cupboards are a useful addition for storage of cleaning materials and can double as occasional seating.
Exceptionally this is an all varnished hull with the decks and interior in fine condition. I would suggest a coat of varnish to the sides of the hull next winter. Of course one of the big advantages is the underside of the Woottens launch which is GRP. The current owner added a new pram hood and cushions. There is also a cockpit tonneau and two full length covers, one lighter for the summer.
